This year is all about experimentation and refining my art style

There are many ideas I want to explore this year in terms of painting techniques and mediums. 

I recently been painting Hibiscus flower. Started with watercolor sketches, than oil painting, now working on large acrylic on canvas and small acrylic sketches on paper. They all have a different style that I felt was dictated by the art medium I was using. 

Here's today experiments. I wanted to paint from dark to light. I blocked the Hibiscus petals dark burgundy as well as leaves dark green. 

Now i'm going in with lighter accents and mid-tones. I really love how it came out. This gives me and idea for smaller collections and exploring more of this style of painting with acrylics.
